Dan Stesco - Killer Extra Pack for Krome Review !
It is out !
I must admit I was a little anxious to see the release date pushed back, but now I'm telling you, this package deserves a long wait!
For those who do not know Dan Stesco, he distinguished himself as a sound designer for our dear synths ... (M50, Kronos, etc ...) and now ... this is the Krome turn ....
So what?
So it kills. Definitely.
Here is my opinion.
The programs
Some 50 programs await you in a library as well-programmed as diverse ... The installation is really easy, put every file on an sdcard, start the krome and load the PCG file (Do not forget to save all of your sounds and combis in F bank and D bank)
In an hour, I tried to make the round of 50 programs and I did not succeed! :)
Why? Simply because these sounds gives us really want, and you play them like the first day you received your Krome!
You will find:
- The big sound of the 80s! (Jump, Queen, Van Halen, old school stuff !!!)
- Leads as you dream! Jordan will buy a Krome :)
- Realistic choirs!
- The famous flute slede hammer or Enigma !
- Pads, creamy to perfection!
- Special effects: shoot, siren, elephant whine, etc ...
What a creativity behind each of these programs ! Wonderfull !
There are not many samples (Yes there are, and META.IMG SAMPLE.IMG settle when starting your Krome ...) but they are just well used, as needed, where needed ...(Will give a look on some parameters :) )
Arp and Drum are present and also, each time, well balanced.
I will also try to make a video to show you my favorite sounds.
The combis
Here is the BEST part...according to me.
In general, I am not a big fan of combinaisons and I must recognize that I rarely use them....but this time, WHAT A SLAP !
Dan made incredible combinations (30 combis), ingenious, and that sound right now ... make three chords on your keyboard and arrangements come to you!
And what arrangements!
House, Dubb, Progressive Rock, etc ... there are really good taste behind each of these combis !
The 80s again ... big fan ... we probably have something in common with Dan, probably born the same year!

Conclusion
5 stars : Oh, yeah ! I was waiting this moment for a long time, but, now I have it, I can say that this pack really deserves the wait.
Do not hesitate one minute to buy it, 69$ is a good price to make your krome a second life ! You will enjoy your new Krome, as the first day, I promise !
In fact, I am really impressed by the work done...and I only hope that Dan will continue to make sounds for the Krome.
Yes, the Krome is not a Kronos, but what Dan made with this pack is enough to make us dream longer...Krome has something in the Gut and Dan is able to show what...
